| Abstract: | The selected annotated bibliography was prepared to demonstrate the range of published materials available to students, teachers, and community practitioners. Topics were selected that are central to the concerns of those who have an interest in child welfare issues associated with the Latino and Chicano communities. By the year 2000, the Latino population will be both the largest and youngest minority group in the United States. Sources are grouped into the following categories: (1) adolescent pregnancy, one source; (2) adolescents, three sources; (3) direct practice, nine sources; (4) disciplinary practice and parenting, four sources; (5) early intervention and maternal and child health, two sources; (6) family violence, one source; (7) immigrants, migrants, and refugees, seven sources; (8) maltreatment, three sources; (9) policy and programs, four sources; (9) poverty and economic issues, seven sources; (10) prevention, eight sources; (11) sexual abuse, three sources; and (12) substance abuse, five sources. An appendix presents an additional 13 sources, 20 periodicals, and 5 sources of information summaries. (SLD) |
