Abstract:	The purpose of this review paper, "Adolescent Sexual Education: Designing Curriculum That Works", is to present some basic curriculum necessities for developing an in-school sexual education program that results in decreasing the number of teenagers initiating sex, thus reducing the number of teen pregnancies and cases of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). This article reviews past research that focused on programs that showed positive results when using a combination of content on abstinence, the biological aspects of STDs and pregnancy and parental involvement. The results indicate that this approach significantly impacts sexual behavior of teens and the parents' ability to engage in the process of talking to their teens about these matters. School systems need to pay attention to the results presented in this article and further research how to implement a more effective sexual education program for teens that includes content on abstinence, STDs and involves parents.
