Journal Selection Process

Journal selection for the ERIC database is a systematic process that involves identifying titles, evaluating them in accordance with the  ERIC Selection Policy, establishing an acquisition agreement with the publisher, and evaluating selections periodically. The policy mandates a single standard - direct relevance to education. Journals meeting the standard must also meet a set of criteria focused on quality, sponsorship and editorial/peer-review process.

ERIC Curators, subject specialists in education, identify titles for evaluation. ERIC Content Experts and the U.S. Department of Education also make recommendations. ERIC welcomes recommendations from publishers and individuals; these may be submitted with title, ISSN, and publisher name to ericpub@csc.com.
