Abstract:Examined questionnaire responses of 419 first-year college students regarding alcohol consumption and ego identity status. Results indicate that the volume and frequency of alcohol consumption was related to ego identity status. Ego identity sophistication was inversely related to the quantity of beer consumption. Implications of the findings are explored. (RJM)
